I’m not sure if it’s true that most people will see a calculator on a computer screen before they see a «real» one, but I think the point is sound: as computers replace physical items more and more often, many people will use the computer version before ever seeing the real version.

I suppose this is probably true, and if so it’ll be very interesting to see what kind of interfaces start to occur as the physical objects die out. (Probably won’t see that much in our lifetimes considering we’re still talking about the floppy disk metaphor for “Save”)
